112 | COSERE One easily applicable storytelling methodology is creating collaborative narratives, where all parties involved, freely or starting from provided prompts, work together to create and share stories that tell their conflicts, possible solutions, emotions, ideas, and feelings connected to them. Collective storytelling also becomes a means to better understand each other, deepen the other’s point of view and knowledge, and communicate more clearly, even when there’s a conflict involved. This approach can be useful not only in resolving existing conflicts but also in promoting a culture of respect, cooperation, and understanding in both school and non-school contexts, and in working preventatively on strategies to counteract negative episodes and phenomena that would otherwise harm the well-being of the school community (and beyond).
