130 | COSERE Recommendations at the Personal Level for Preventing and Coping with Professional Burnout Various strategies have been identified as effective in preventing and managing professional burnout, including stress awareness, physiological training, environmental modifications, and mindfulness practices. It is recommended that universities, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and expert groups in this field collaborate to develop and provide accessible programmes for teachers. Successful burnout and stress management programs typically start by imparting knowledge about stress and burnout to participants. Sessions are conducted in a safe and calm environment, offering information about the nature, signs, causes, and symptoms of burnout. Subsequently, collaborative methods are employed to help participants identify and understand the sources of stress, recognise thoughts that trigger physiological and emotional reactions, and systematically evaluate stressful events at work. Participants are then guided to replace harmful stressors with more rational thinking patterns.
